Brian will receive funding from the Canada Council for the Arts to compose a new work for Toronto's New Music Concerts, to be premiered in Spring 2013.

Brian will present a paper at the University of Toronto Music Graduate Student Symposium in early May, 2012 entitled "Architecture and Revelry as Metaphors in a Spatial Approach to Music Composition". The paper will discuss his orchestral work Supposed Spaces.

Brian will be a guest lecturer at the first edition of the Montreal Contemporary Music Lab in June, 2012.

Brian will participate in nu:nord, a Canada-Norway new music exchange project in Montreal in early July, 2012, and compose a new work for solo clarinet for Mark Bradley.

Brian selected as the composer facilitator for the Master Class Youth Series in Midland, ON in June, 2012. He will develop a composition and piano workshop in collaboration with the Canadian Music Centre, Conservatory Canada, and the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

Latitude 45 Arts Promotion awarded "Artist/Manager of the Year" and Nathaniel Dett Chorale awarded "Touring Artist of the Year" for 2008-2009 at the Annual CAPACOA Awards. Harman is affiliated as an agent with Latitude 45 Arts and spearheaded the planning for the choir's tour of Western Canada.

Dialectics
, for wind ensemble, advances to the finals of the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra International Composition Competition after a live performance of the work for the jury. The work was selected as a semi-finalist in May, 2009.
